About Us
Everyone knows that the mid-century modern (MCM) movement is growing as evidenced by the explosive growth of Dwell Magazine and other media outlets working hard to provide content to this crowd. A large part of this growth is coming from the fact that many of the more than 20 million homes built during the 1950’s and 1960’s are now desirable to prospective homeowners because of their open floorplans, walkable neighborhoods, and proximity to downtown. Unfortunately, most of these homes are also in dire need of remodeling.
When David and Christiane Erwin updated their own 1951 cottage, they wanted to try to restore the original look of the home, but they couldn’t find a period-appropriate front door. Crestview Doors now offers homeowners and professionals an easy and affordable way to build an authentic mid-century door for themselves.
We are the manufacturers of the Doorlite Kit, a do-it-yourself project that adds windows to any flush interior or exterior door for a mid-century modern look and feel. Using an existing door or purchasing new, simply follow the included installation and design instructions to cut holes in the door and apply the new windows in the layout of your choice
.This product is ideal for handy homeowners who are looking for an affordable modern door and are excited to tackle this as a weekend project. We’re also working with a handful of remodeling professionals who offer installation as a service to homeowners that aren’t handy.
Crestview Doors is proud to be the exclusive retailer of period-appropriate products for your mid-century modern home renovation or restoration.
Our product line is based on careful research and represents a distinctive style that authentically reflects your home's original beauty. We design and manufacture our products right here in the United States in our workshop in Austin, Texas, and we work hard to provide our customers with the highest quality and the most affordable price.
